How does Interkit work?

Step 1:

Browse our catalogue of pre-designed homes and the additional options and upgrades we offer.

Step 2:

Download our Order Form and Site Plan Form. Fill in your details, choose your materials, and provide us with your block details. Email these to us for a quote.

Step 3:

Email all relevant council information to us and we’ll put together a final confirmed price and purchase agreement. A 10% deposit is then required before we begin your plans. The rest is paid in instalments throughout our delivery process.

How do I place an order?

Simply browse through our homes catalogue and decide which property you would like to build. Download our Quote/Order Form and fill in all of the details. Also download our Site Plan Form and provide us with the details required such as lot size, block information etc. Email both to us, and we’ll provide you with a quote. If you’re happy with your quote, pay your deposit and we’ll get started immediately on your council plans.

Can I alter my kit home plan?

External Wall Frames are load bearing so cannot be changed. Internal Walls are not load bearing so therefore can be altered to suit your needs, at no extra charge. Simply draw your changes on your site plan form when you order, and we will adjust the plan and ensure they conform with Council Regulations.

Additionally, we have a selection of options and upgrades you can choose, please visit our Options & Upgrades page for further information.

You can also alter certain elements of your order such as colours or cladding, however any changes must be made within 30 days of deposit being paid and are not effective until acknowledged by us.

Materials

What is a kit home?

A Kit Home is essentially a ready to order home where most of the major components (e.g. frames, roofing, etc) are pre-made and delivered directly to your site.

They are a very cost effective option, as you can assemble them yourself (owner builder) or opt to hire builders. They are also simple to build, much like piecing together a puzzle.

What materials do you supply?

We supply everything needed from above floor to lock up stage + internal linings, including council plans, frames & trusses, roofing, windows, cladding, and external trim. Flooring and foundation is not included in our kit homes, however depending on your property this can be negotiated for additional costs.

What is lock up stage?

‘Lock up stage’ is when a home’s external wall, cladding and roof covering is fixed, the flooring is laid and external doors and external windows are fixed (even if those doors or windows are only temporary). Essentially it’s when you are able to lock up your property as all external openings are fixed and lockable.

Are frames and trusses assembled?

Yes, panels are delivered to you ready to stand.

Are windows supplied and double glazed?

Yes, all of our windows are included and double glazed is our standard.

Are Internal Linings (e.g. Insulation) included?

These are optional extras (see our price list): Gyprock, cornice, external wall insulation (R2.5 walls and R5.0 ceilings), Hume 4 panel doors, and Lockwood stainless steel satin knobs.

Is the garage roller door included?

Yes, they are included and are also automatic B&D quality.

Are foundations and flooring provided?

Our basic kit supply is intended to go on your ready-made slab, so we do not include flooring and foundations in our basic prices. However, if you decide to use an elevated flooring system, then we can supply the steel or timber frame flooring system with termite resistant structafloor and insulation for an additional price. We can do the foundation designs on your plans if you are able to provide us with certain details that we need. Please contact us for more information.

How do I choose my bricks?

You can visit any brick yard to select your bricks. Please note our allowance is $1,200 per thousand bricks delivered. If you choose a higher price point, then simply pay the difference.

What is your wind classification?

Wind classification N3 is our standard. N4 is an available option at an extra cost.

Is your product good quality?

Absolutely. We use only the highest quality products at affordable prices. Some councils require certain materials as a mandatory, so we have chosen to make those materials our standard and apply them to all of our kit home designs. These mandatory materials include double glazed windows, colorbond roofing, and brick veneers.

Payment & Delivery

Is delivery included?

Delivery is included for Metro areas (up to 200kms of any capital cities). For more distant jobs a negotiated delivery fee will apply.
